This will be the first installment of our new series of rules-based quizzes, which we’ve affectionately titled “Cross Examination”.  Our goal with these quizzes is to help players familiarize themselves with the new 6th edition rules.  You’ll pay more attention if it’s going to be on a test later, right?  For the most part these will be based on questions that have caused one or both players to “go to the book” during a playtest, FLGS, or tourney game.  6th edition is slow enough without having to constantly raid the rulebook for answers, so hopefully knowing the answers to these quizzical questions will help us all play faster, smarter 40k.  Quiz yourself, quiz your friends, quiz your dog.  Print ‘em out and use ‘em for bonus points in your next FLGS tourney (and if you want to plug our site in your tourney packet, even better!).  Enjoy!

Without further ado, on to the quiz!
Question 1.  Going to ground in area terrain gives what bonus to a unit’s cover save?

Question 2.  A walker with 4 melee weapons gets how many bonus attacks from its weapons?

Question 3.  Can an Independent Character embarked on a chariot issue a challenge in close combat?

Question 4.  Can a dedicated transport executing a scout redeployment move “flat out” for an extra 6″ of movement?

Question 5.  Units on bikes automatically receive what special rules?

Question 6.  A Space Marine Biker turbo-boosts in its shooting phase and ends his move completely in the open.  What if any cover save does he receive in the opponent’s next shooting phase (assuming no intervening models or obscuring terrain whatsoever).

Question 7.  After hitting a vehicle, a weapon with the Haywire special rule causes what effect on the D6 roll of 2?

Question 8.  You deep strike your unit and scatter onto an enemy unit, causing a mishap.  Oops!  What happens to the unit when you roll a 2 on the mishap table?

Question 9.  Name two possible drawbacks of having one of your units with Furious Charge charge two or more enemy units at the same time in 6th edition.

Question 10.  You’ve hit and penetrated a vehicle using your Strength 7, AP – weapon.  You roll a 3 on the D6 to determine damage result.  What is the damage result?
